About Wintermute

Wintermute is one of the largest crypto-native algorithmic trading companies in digital assets. We provide liquidity across most major cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, offer a broad range of OTC trading solutions, and support high-profile blockchain projects and traditional financial institutions moving into digital assets. We are also expanding into prediction markets, applying our trading and liquidity expertise to this rapidly growing space and building infrastructure across new event-driven markets. Wintermute Ventures invests in early-stage DeFi and Web3 projects. Wintermute was founded in 2017 and has successfully navigated multiple industry cycles. Culturally, we combine the technology standards and quantitative rigour of traditional high-frequency trading firms with the innovative and entrepreneurial culture of technology startups.

To Wintermute, digital assets - and emerging markets such as prediction markets - are not simply another asset class. We believe in the long-term potential of blockchain and new forms of market infrastructure, and we aim to take a leading role in building innovative, liquid and compliant markets. We are looking for someone with an established network across the sports ecosystem and a strong understanding of how to identify, engage and build trusted relationships with sophisticated clients and market participants. At Wintermute, you will play a key role in growing our sports and prediction markets business, leveraging your existing relationships while developing new ones across the market. You should be well connected within the sports ecosystem, understand the needs and decision-making processes of sophisticated counterparties, and be able to develop relationships into long-term commercial partnerships.
You will have significant ownership and responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to directly influence how we build and grow this part of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with market participants and counterparties active in sports-related event markets and prediction markets.
  • Leverage your existing network to develop new commercial relationships relevant to Wintermute’s sports and prediction markets activities.
  • Identify key market segments, communities and channels where active market participants can be reached and develop effective strategies for engaging them.
  • Manage relationships from initial introduction through onboarding, relationship development and ongoing coverage.
  • Understand participants’ market activity, preferences and requirements, and work with internal teams to provide appropriate solutions and support.
  • Develop new relationships through industry events, referrals, professional networks and other relevant channels.
  • Gather market intelligence and participant feedback to help inform the development of Wintermute’s sports and prediction markets capabilities.
  • Work closely with trading, product, operations and compliance teams to ensure relationships are managed effectively and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Hard Skills Requirements

  • An established network of sophisticated market participants, counterparties or commercial relationships within the sports ecosystem, with experience supporting significant transaction activity.
  • Strong understanding of the sports ecosystem and the channels, communities and networks where active market participants operate.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with sophisticated and commercially significant clients or counterparties and develop those relationships into long-term business opportunities.
  • Experience in relationship management, high-touch sales, business development, account management or a similar client-facing role within sports, trading or financial markets.
  • Strong commercial judgment, with an understanding of client value, transaction activity and relationship economics.
  • Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of developing a client and counterparty network from an early stage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Interest in prediction markets, trading and the growing intersection between sports and financial markets.
  • Strong interest in sports, with a commitment to staying informed about relevant news, market developments and major events.

Our Culture & How You’ll Thrive

  • You have an ownership mentality and stay focused on the ultimate outcome: contributing directly or indirectly to sustainable P&L and helping grow the business over the long term.

  • You enjoy solving complex problems and seeing your work translate into meaningful business impact.

  • You are adaptable and comfortable working across different priorities, projects and teams depending on what the situation requires.

  • You are ambitious, determined and humble, with a strong willingness to learn and continuously improve.

  • You thrive in a meritocratic environment where performance, impact and contribution matter.

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are comfortable with the pace and demands of a fast-moving global business.

  • You enjoy collaborating across teams and functions to achieve shared goals.

  • You are comfortable working primarily from the office, or remotely where the role requires, while maintaining flexibility where appropriate.
