About:
Veda is the DeFi engine powering financial apps enabling platforms to seamlessly create on-chain yield products. Our mission is to unlock DeFi for the world by providing seamless, enterprise-grade integrations for modern finance. Veda's technology powers many of DeFi's largest vault products, including ether.fi Liquid, PlasmaUSD Vault, Lombard DeFi Vault, and Mantle cmETH.

Role:
As a Smart Contract Engineer, you will contribute to our Solidity engineering organization — architecture, delivery, and security for all on-chain code. You will help to uphold world-class security and reliability standards for contracts securing ten-figure TVL.
We seek individuals with high agency to join us in defining the next phase of DeFi growth and adoption. The ideal candidate takes ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and adapts swiftly to evolving demands.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to all Solidity codebases, including upgrade patterns, proxy architecture, account abstraction, and cross-chain messaging.
- Drive rigorous design reviews, threat modeling, fuzz testing, and formal verification to achieve “audit-by-design” security
- Continuous deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of existing vaults
- Own end-to-end delivery of new protocol features
- Manage external auditors and bug-bounty programs; implement on-chain monitoring and incident-response playbooks
- Represent Veda in client integrations, conferences, and the broader open-source community
What you'll bring:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- 2-3+ years writing production Solidity (ERC-20/4626, custom libraries, proxy & upgrade patterns)
- Track record of creating or maintaining a contract suite without critical incidents
- Knowledge of EVM internals, gas optimization, storage layout, and common smart-contract exploits (re-entrancy, oracle manipulation, MEV)
- Fluency with Foundry and/or Hardhat,
- Excellent written and verbal English; comfortable presenting to executives, auditors, and the wider community
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with multi-chain DeFi interactions and cross-chain messaging standards
- Professional experience using Rust
- Experience using Move-based smart-contract platforms (Aptos) would be a huge plus also.
- Background in traditional finance, risk, credit, or derivatives a plus
- Active contributor to open-source security research, EIPs, or protocol governance
- Formal-verification expertise
- Experience with audit cycles with top-tier firms (e.g., Trail of Bits, Spearbit)
