About the role
Superstate is hiring a Business Development professional to join our team in New York to help us modernize financial markets through tokenization and asset origination. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be part of a small, motivated, and fast-moving team with responsibilities including developing strategic relationships, driving business to the Superstate ecosystem, and financial and market analysis.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the traditional and decentralized finance markets, exceptional problem-solving and negotiation skills, a proven track record of selling, an ability to grasp concepts quickly, and be able to think critically and find solutions in a timely manner.
Key Responsiblities
- Generate Pipeline and Close Deals: You will own all elements of the customer lifecycle including sourcing and qualifying leads, articulating the value proposition, handling objections, facilitating onboarding, and closing deals (building an origination pipeline, raising assets and/or integrating Superstate products).
- Relationship Management: You will build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, C-suite executives, partners and stakeholders, identifying and delivering solutions to their problems.
- Product Knowledge: You will stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, develop expertise in our current and future product offerings, and maintain a deep understanding of the institutional crypto landscape.
- Collaboration: You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to build compelling value propositions and product offerings.
- Analysis & Presentations: You will conduct financial analysis and due diligence to assess strategic initiatives, and produce high quality materials to potential and existing partners.
Must Haves
- Based in New York City
- At least 2 years of experience and a proven track record of success in investment banking, business development, or sales in Traditional Finance, Web3, or Fintech
- A good understanding of equities and their participants
- A good understanding of the L1 / L2 ecosystems and on-chain financial markets
- Maintain a pulse on emerging trends in crypto and adjacent industries (e.g. Fintech) while identifying new trends and opportunities
- Ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical (and non-crypto native) audiences
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
