About the Opportunity
As the Product Manager in Compliance Product, you will own and enhance OKX's compliance systems, with a primary focus on building trust and enhancing user experience. You will lead the development of our Travel Rule solution — a key product area responsible for enabling secure, compliant, and seamless crypto transfers across both retail and institutional users.
The Travel Rule, introduced by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), requires that certain information is shared between Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) during crypto transfers. You’ll own the challenge of implementing this in a way that upholds our regulatory obligations without compromising user experience or transfer success rates.
This is a cross-functional and cross-ecosystem role — you’ll collaborate with Compliance, Engineering, Legal, Risk, Design, and external partners to build systems that work globally, scale across user segments, and remain adaptable as regulations evolve.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Define and execute the product strategy for Travel Rule compliance across all crypto transfers, including both retail users and institutional clients.
- Design workflows that securely collect, validate, and transmit required sender/receiver information, with minimal user friction.
- Work with Engineering to build integrations with external protocols and discovery networks
- Identify friction points across the customer journey that stem from regulatory or risk controls, and reimagine those experiences to be more user-friendly while preserving integrity.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to translate complex, evolving regulatory requirements into intuitive and scalable product solutions.
- Partner with Design and UX Research to ensure transparency, trust, and usability in every step of the transfer flow.
- Monitor global developments in Travel Rule implementations and proactively adjust the roadmap to maintain compliance and interoperability.
- Drive alignment with internal teams and external VASPs to ensure smooth information exchange and reduce failure rates in cross-platform transfers.
What We Look For In You:
- 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in fintech, crypto, or infrastructure-heavy environments.
- A strong systems thinker who can distill complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear, user-centric product flows.
- Experience shipping products in regulated environments or working closely with Legal, Compliance, or Risk teams.
- Strong product intuition with a user-first mindset; you’ve designed seamless experiences in complex ecosystems.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset, with the ability to identify user friction points
- Strong systems thinker who can navigate and simplify complex workflows, particularly where multiple stakeholders or roles are involved.
- Proven ability to work across technical, compliance, business and operational teams to deliver compliant, scalable product solutions.
- Clear communicator who can align stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains.
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with crypto infrastructure, including how wallets, custodians, and exchanges interact in both retail and institutional contexts.
- Understanding of FATF Travel Rule guidance and how it applies to VASPs globally.
- Experience with crypto transaction data, KYC/identity systems, or blockchain analytics.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
