The Windows DevOps Engineer will support Jump’s Infrastructure to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of operation through automation. This role provides an opportunity to work on cutting edge global infrastructure, working closely with other teams at Jump. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fully automated and highly agile infrastructure, always looking for ways to improve. Each day you will face exciting challenges in Jump’s fast paced, innovative and diverse environment.

What You'll Do:

• Be focused on solving problems via automation first; strength in PowerShell and C#
• Invest time in R&D and testing to develop innovative, technically demanding, solutions to unique problems facing our team and the company.
• Contribute to and lead specific projects to enhance our Windows infrastructure such as:
  o Delivering a best-in-class VDI experience via Citrix Virtual Desktop
  o Enhancing monitoring of new and existing platforms via open source or commercial tools, producing central monitoring dashboards using InfluxDB and Grafana
  o Integrating OS and other Windows applications with other tools used within Jump.
• Have a good knowledge of Microsoft hyper-v hypervisor and be a senior contributor to the support of that platform.
• Be an enthusiastic owner of infrastructure, including taking part in a oncall rotation and working to automate as many tasks as possible.
  o Be part of a team responsible for managing Enterprise storage and Backup systems.
• Be familiar with networking fundamentals and basic troubleshooting.
• Be comfortable interacting Linux systems as they interact with our team’s technology.
• Be happy to assist with operational support of our users within the region as required.
• Willing to operate far outside your comfort zone and existing experience, and ability to be a part in regular sensible risk management decisions (Jump is not a process driven environment)
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

• Strong working knowledge of C# (experience using Blazor web framework is a plus)
• Advanced level PowerShell scripting language, or equivalent systems for automation (e.g. Ansible)
• Experience working with open source software and open APIs
• Basic experience with Linux desktops and servers, and a willingness to learn more (training and development opportunities are available)
• Basic experience with networking devices, and a willingness to learn more (training and development opportunities are available)
• Experience in Microsoft Hyper-v / SCVMM preferred
• Ideal candidates will have worked with cloud services (Azure, Office365, AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Well-organised with strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required
• Reliable and predictable availability
