The quantitative trading teams at Jump Trading probe and examine the global markets, seeking to understand the complexities of various traded products and exchanges. They leverage their impeccable statistical analysis and data mining skills, using the results of their research to make forecasts and develop profitable predictive trading models.
What You'll Do:
As a Software Engineer, you will work on a core team of technologists that build and improve the platforms that drive the trading team. You will work closely with the quantitative researchers on the team to create new research infrastructure. You will collaborate with the technologists on the team to improve the scalability of the production systems. This may include other duties as assigned or needed. By improving these core systems that power the group, you will be a multiplier on the productivity of the entire team as the business grows into different markets.
The team is looking for someone who will be passionate about development and demonstrates intellectual curiosity and an ability to solve difficult technical problems in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
Skills You’ll Need:
- At least 5+ years of professional work experience with Python on large distributed systems
- Experience working on a Linux platform
- Proven success working with large data sets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intellectual curiosity
- Self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of projects and responsibilities
- Minimum academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Reliable and predictable availability
