DESCRIPTION: The Software Engineer II is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Software Engineer II will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our software solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated software engineer to contribute to the success of our projects and grow within our organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets our customers' needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Collaborate with product managers and other team members to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions in accordance with best practices and coding standards.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance your skills and contribute to technology decisions.
  • Follow documented software development processes and methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular project updates.
  • Write robust test suites through mocking unit tests, integrations tests, and e2e testing

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (C++, Java, JavaScript, GoLang, Rust, Solidity, Kotlin)
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals i.e. object-oriented design, data structures, software architecture design.
  • Passion for software development and a desire to grow as a software engineer.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with and passion for bitcoin, bitcoin pools, wallets, nodes and/or the crypto industry.
  • Familiarity with domain-specific knowledge such as financial systems, healthcare regulations, e-commerce platforms.
  • Proficiency with development tools, frameworks, and libraries such as specific IDEs, version control systems (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database design principles is often preferred.
  • Familiar with AWS cloud concepts, including deployment to cloud and Infrastructure as Code. Familiar with in ECS, EKS, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or personal GitHub repositories.
  • Prior experience working in a startup environment, with an understanding of the fast-paced and dynamic nature of startups.
