As an Accounting Manager – Energy, on our talented and growing Accounting & Finance team, you will have an opportunity to rapidly develop your accounting and analysis skills in a fast-paced and tech-driven environment. In this role you'll lead process and represent the accounting team working closely with our energy business.

What you'll do in this role:

• Lead key aspects of daily accounting operations, including oversight of General Ledger transactions, cash management functions, AR/AP workflows, storage and derivatives accounting, and detailed reconciliations—including analysis of clearing accounts, trade data and related systems.
• Analyze detailed trade information and reconcile data between internal trade systems and external statements. Collaborate with the executives to identify and improve critical control functions across internal systems and processes, applying strategic thinking to anticipate and mitigate financial control risks from a holistic, enterprise-wide perspective.
• Take ownership of month-end closing activities across several legal entities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and business alignment with accounting principal requirements.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements consistent with GAAP/IFRS standards and commercial needs, providing insightful analysis to inform leadership decisions.
• Embrace complex challenges, thrive in a dynamic environment, and demonstrate comfort in continuously learning and adapting to new tools, technologies, and ways of operating.
• Lead relevant parts of the annual financial audits and ability to collaborate as a team for a common goal.
• Actively engage in shaping innovative solutions, remain curious and forward-thinking about emerging trends, particularly excited about exploring the integration and opportunities of artificial intelligence in enhancing accounting workflow.
• Oversee and proactively manage compliance with financial covenants, alerting senior leadership to emerging issues and providing proposed action plans

Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred
• 7+ years of public or corporate accounting experience
• Previous experience working in or with physical gas and/or power trading firms
• Experience with Endur ETRM preferred.
• Previous experience working with Oracle preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS, preferred
• Must be very detail oriented
• Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible to handle changing priorities
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
