We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Chicago-based Family Office team.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Perform daily General Ledger functions such as bank account reconciliation, recording real estate property activity, booking depreciation, and income and expense accruals
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and analytics
  • Maintain rent rolls and schedule of lease terminations/renewals
  • Prepare invoices for payment and record corresponding entry in the General Ledger
  • Assist in project budgets, track expenses incurred, and sustain open lines of communication with all parties involved
  • Retain schedule of property taxes due and ensure payments are made on a timely basis
  • Calculate CAM expenses and submit invoices for payment
  • Prepare and submit payroll through ADP
  • Respond to requests from regulators and external auditors
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and create ad-hoc reports as needed

What you’ll need for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Quickbooks preferred, but not required
  • Strong organization skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and effectively manage changing priorities
  • Maturity; proven ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
