- Conduct compliance monitoring activities and enhance the Compliance Monitoring Program;
- Develop, update, and review policies in accordance with legislative, regulatory, and administrative requirements;
- Assess existing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current regulations and the Company’s strategic priorities;
- Support internal and external regulatory audits, including the coordination of responses and remediation actions;
- Monitor developments in the regulatory environment and ensure timely communication of relevant updates across the business;
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of various compliance reports and management information;
- Collaborate with other departments to gather data for regulatory reporting and ensure timely submission;
- Provide guidance to management and staff regarding regulatory requirements and necessary compliance actions;
- Maintain documentation integrity and ensure all compliance activities are properly recorded and auditable;
- Perform ad-hoc duties and support other compliance-related tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum three years of experience in a legal or regulatory compliance role within a regulated financial institution, experience in virtual financial assets (cryptocurrency) will be considered an asset;
- A thorough understanding of the Regulatory Compliance and AML/CFT regulations within the financial services/ fintech industry;
- Ability to distill and discern important information from regulatory guidance, statutes and regulations, audit findings, and other documents and determine how it impacts the business. The understanding of regulatory requirements vs. “best practices” in compliance is critical;
- Experience interacting with local regulators a plus;
- Hands-on experience in compliance monitoring and compliance testing;
- Deep understanding of, and ability to apply environmental context, data, and legislation;
- Knowledge of digital assets and fintech products is preferred;
- Must be able to perform independently and with minimal supervision;
- Advanced and persuasive written and verbal communication skills;
- Comprehensive research, interpretation, and critical analysis skills;
- Strong organizational skills – must be multi-tasked-oriented and able to balance priorities and deadlines.
