Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying and documenting various risks facing the Exchange and Clearing House, including financial, operational, security, commercial, legal, and compliance risks;
- Support risk assessments, help identify material risks, and contribute to developing key controls to mitigate those risks;
- Contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of the risk management framework, including assisting the design and implementation of policies and procedures across the exchange and clearing operations;
- Help design risk metrics, implement risk reporting, and escalate significant risks to the Chief Risk Officer;
- Work with cross-functional teams including Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance, to manage and monitor all risks, and provide support for both internal and external audits;
- Review and scrutinize exchange and clearing house risk management practices, including enterprise technology risk assessments, business impact analysis, pricing methodologies, and risk models.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science, or Engineering. Master's Degree or Professional Certifications (e.g., FRM or PRM) are preferred;
- 5-10 years of experience in risk management, particularly in the financial services or exchange and clearing house sectors. Proven experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and IT risks;
- A fundamental understanding of margined derivatives, including futures and options, and their associated risks is required. Familiarity with US and international regulations related to margined derivatives is preferred;
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with industry standards;
- Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment methodologies, and statistical tools; programming skills in SQL and Python are required;
- Strong communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and clearly report risks to senior management.
