Business Development at Coinbase accelerates strategic product priorities and delivers impact via partnerships.
You will lead business development efforts for Coinbase Wallet.Coinbase Wallet is our self custody wallet that lets users store their own cryptocurrency and access the full power of the open financial system. We provide a new generation of financial services to everyone in the world, no matter where they are or what their economic background is. Wallet users can earn income on their assets, take out loans, and send money to anyone, anywhere, at a low fee. Most importantly, we’re creating a platform on which the next generation of entrepreneurs and creators can build, innovate and thrive.
You will be responsible for identifying and driving growth through payments strategy and product partnerships to enhance and expand the Coinbase Wallet experience. Collaborating closely with product management, you will define the requirements for a successful partner strategy and prioritize key product areas, partnerships, and market expansion.
We’re seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly ambitious contributor who wants to be at the forefront of an open, inclusive financial system. The ideal candidate will be ready to embrace diverse business cultures, sign groundbreaking deals, and hustle towards the growth and success of Coinbase Wallet in new markets and product areas.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Be the business owner leading cross-functional partnership initiatives, working with Product, Marketing, Comms, Compliance, Legal
- Own development and execution of the GTM strategy and tactics that will support Coinbase Wallet
- Own all elements of the partnership life cycle: scoping of opportunities, identifying potential partners, framing of value, negotiating agreements and implementation and optimization
- International market prioritization, go to market partnerships and partner growth efforts
- Payments strategy and close partnership with existing on-ramps
- Maintain and manage productive relationships with partners, resolving business, policy and technical issues.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 6+ years of experience across strategic deal-oriented roles with global exposure. Examples include: business development, corporate development, new market expansion, go-to-market strategy and partnerships
- Experience in crypto with a longstanding passion for the space, in particular in DeFI, on/off ramps and/or onchain creators
- Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management, and organizational skills, including navigating complex organizational dynamics to deliver cross-team results
- Deep analytical, prioritization, and problem solving skills and proven experience using data to identify actionable insights resulting in better product outcomes
- Proven ability to mentor and motivate high-performing global teams
- Entrepreneurial mindset and experience succeeding in fast-paced environments (e.g. you can run through walls)
- Track record managing diverse international ecosystem growth while balancing customer needs
- Exceptional leadership skills with a history of building and leading high-performing teams
- International travel will be encouraged
