Chia Networks is hiring technically gifted programmers to expand our team of cryptographers and engineers building our blockchain and smart transaction platform. We have a focus on easy to use software across architectures and operating systems. You should have strong algorithmic skills. Cryptography experience is a plus but not required. Remote is okay and currently the standard, though there is a concentration of people in the SF Bay Area. We once asked Bram what to put here and he said, “We need engineers to press buttons on computers…” That said, you will get to work with some of the best engineers and cryptographers in the world - on the latest protocols and research.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Front-end Engineer at Chia Network, you will play a key role in shaping the user interface and experience of our web applications. You will work closely with our design and back-end engineering teams to develop efficient, responsive, and visually appealing front-end solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional departments and back-end engineers to implement user-friendly interfaces based on provided design mockups and specifications.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Develop reusable components and libraries to streamline development processes.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and fix issues.
Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience as a Front-end Developer or similar role.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
Experience with React, Redux Toolkit and Apollo GraphQL
Experience with ElectronJS
Experience writing tests in Jest and Cypress
Nice to have: Experience with Expo for universal native apps
Strong understanding of responsive design principles.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
Experience with server-side technologies such as Node.js.
Knowledge of web accessibility standards and techniques.
Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Sketch).
Previous experience in cryptography/blockchain.
