These include: Bullish Exchange – a regulated and institutionally focused digital assets spot and derivatives exchange, integrating a high-performance central limit order book matching engine with automated market making to provide deep and predictable liquidity. Bullish Exchange is regulated in Germany, Hong Kong, and Gibraltar. CoinDesk Indices – a collection of tradable proprietary and single-asset benchmarks and indices that track the performance of digital assets for global institutions in the digital assets and traditional finance industries. CoinDesk Data - a broad suite of digital assets market data and analytics, providing real-time insights into prices, trends, and market dynamics. CoinDesk Insights – a digital asset media and events provider and operator of Coindesk.com, a digital media platform that covers news and insights about digital assets, the underlying markets, policy, and blockchain technology.

The Team

Join our Pre-trade Engineering Team, where we are focused on creating seamless, high-performance, end-to-end user experiences. Based in Hong Kong, our small team of experienced full-stack developers works on a diverse range of projects, from highly responsive frontend UIs (for web and mobile platforms) to robust backend APIs and infrastructure. We emphasize collaboration, creativity, and a results-driven culture committed to execution.

We use a modern, cloud-native tech stack that includes: Java (21), Typescript, React, Playwright, Kubernetes (on GCP), BuildKite, LaunchDarkly, DataDog, and Jira.

The Role

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will engage in a variety of high-impact projects, including the development of greenfield user-facing applications, the enhancement of core business systems, and ongoing engineering efficiency improvements. Your work will involve designing and implementing solutions that are not only user-friendly but also performant, robust, and scalable.

We operate as a lean and agile organisation. Accordingly, we expect you to be highly resourceful, intrinsically motivated, and capable of driving technical and process changes both within the team and the wider organisation.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Full stack software development including front-end (e.g. React / Typescript) and backend (e.g. Java).

• Experience leading complex projects and/or teams.

• Strong understanding and practical experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) approaches.

• Excellent communication skills and a proven team player.

• Solid knowledge of API design and development

• Familiarity with DevOps and modern CI/CD practices.

• Proven track record of delivery

Bonus:

• Experience in the crypto or traditional financial services industry.

• Experience using data analytics to drive product decisions and growth
