Junior Compliance Analyst - London

The Team:

The Jersey Compliance Team - currently comprising the Head of Compliance, Deputy Head of Compliance and two Senior Compliance Officers - provides regulatory support for the Brevan Howard Group across all of its activities including advisory services, internal monitoring, regulatory reporting, regulatory training and marketing document signoffs. The position, based in the Brevan Howard Jersey office, will report to the Deputy Head of Compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance monitoring systems and controls (including policies and procedures) in line with evolving requirements of the Brevan Howard business;
  • Perform day-to-day compliance tasks – eg trader monitoring, disclosure monitoring
  • Responsible for compliance registers (e.g. PAD, OBI, JFSC, e-learning, etc.)
  • Assist the Compliance Team to maintain its relationship with the JFSC and with other regulators;
  • Assist Brevan Howard’s MLCO / MLRO / Compliance Officer with relevant tasks and responsibilities;
  • Undertake due diligence checks and sanctions screening;
  • Maintain the Compliance Monitoring Programme to ensure that it is effective in managing operational and regulatory risks;
  • Build relationships with other risk and compliance officers around the group to build and enhance the global compliance control framework;
  • Assist in the provision of compliance and regulatory training to employees;
  • Assist in the signoff of marketing documents;
  • Maintain and manage the Group’s Global Filing Matrix to ensure that all regulatory filings have been made in a timely manner.
  • Ad-hoc projects and where necessary.

Work Experience/Technical Background:

  • University Degree or relevant work experience
  • Holding or working towards a recognised regulatory professional qualification.
  • Exposure or experience to Compliance in fund/ asset management firms.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated organisation

Technical Skills/Business Knowledge:

  • Strong Microsoft skills, specifically Word, and Excel
