The Department:

The Procurement function at Brevan Howard is rapidly expanding to support the growth objectives of the firm. Building from a small but capable team, we are currently expanding to support the business across all areas of expenditure – from IT to Facilities, Professional Services to Data, Consultancy to Compliance, Legal and beyond.

A dynamic and resourceful team is required to enable all functions of the business to achieve efficient, cost effective, best-in-class growth. With full responsibility for strategic sourcing, P2P and implementing the systems to support the same, the team will be challenged across the board, and having entrepreneurial and self-starting team members to facilitate that is key.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be working within a small team, managing the day-to-day sourcing, negotiation and vendor relationship management tasks for various technology functions across the organisation. You should expect to work closely with all areas of the technology team – Infrastructure, Networks, Cloud, Desktop, Data, InfoSec and more.

You will be expected to work with business leaders across the organization so strong communication and consistency in approach, alongside excellent stakeholder engagement skills will be key.

The successful candidate will be analytically and numerically strong, with a keen interest in developing their strategic sourcing knowledge and techniques in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and experience in negotiating and managing key Technology vendors – Cloud providers, hardware and software vendors, IT resellers, telephony and networks, datacentres – is essential.

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Essential

  • 3+ years in a fast paced indirect procurement team preferably within the IT category
  • Experience of working in a high growth, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent IT category management experience
  • An understanding of the different product sets within IT and their interdependencies
  • Ability to work with Stakeholders from multiple countries to high success
  • In-depth knowledge of procuring cloud services and managing cloud providers

Desirable

  • Specific experience of the asset management industry would be helpful
  • Category management experience across other functions professional services, research, data, legal, compliance etc
  • Understanding of category plans working against delivering set plans with stakeholders
  • Understanding of budgets including both OPEX / CAPEX spend

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end P2P process
  • Negotiation and vendor management
  • Stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Workday, ServiceNow, FITS and similar systems
