Responsibilities:

• Lead the specification and implementation of the risk framework for the Commodities business, working closely with the CRO, Head of Business and portfolio managers
• Ensure that all significant risks are monitored and reported
• Ensure that appropriate risk limits and guidelines are in place
• Day-to-day risk management and monitoring of Commodities trading books
• Carry out ad-hoc scenario analysis and stress tests
• Assist traders with analysis of positions, ensuring that risk-taking is appropriate
• Provide transparency on key and emerging risks to Senior Management
• Support the ongoing growth of the Commodities business

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

• 7+ years’ experience working in a commodities-focused role either on the buy-side or sell-side as a risk manager or trader
• Experience working with trading desks and/or interacting with portfolio managers
• Experience focused on oil and power derivatives markets

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• In-depth knowledge of US/European oil, power and gas markets
• Strong understanding of commodity derivatives, and approaches to their risk measurement and management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience writing SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from databases
• Knowledge of other coding languages such as Python
• Exposure to other commodities such as metals and gas
