Technical Skills:
- Experience in negotiating a variety of complex agreements and an understanding of basic contract principles.
- An ability to develop the legal team’s negotiation playbook and keep it updated according to industry standards and regulatory developments.
- Strong understanding of agreement terms and its impact across different internal teams and the company as a whole.
- Familiarity with the types of institutional clients we serve, from traditional financial institutions to venture capital funds to protocols.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Manage internal and external timeline for agreement turnaround time.
- Assist in improving existing agreements and implementing changes cross-functionally.
- Monitor client agreement workflows and advise as the primary legal counsel for workflows.
- Work with the business to manage intake and provide an excellent client onboarding experience.
- The ability to effectively manage a team of attorneys to ensure operational efficiency and collaboration both among the Legal Team and with the business lines it partners with
Organizational Knowledge:
- Have a deep knowledge of the strategy of Anchorage Digital and its various business lines. Actively engage with different groups to work on understanding historical transactions as well as requirements for executing on go-forward global strategy.
Communication and Influence
- Able to communicate complex issues clearly and credibly across a wide range of audiences.
- Communicate, organize and execute on cross-team goals and projects, by advising internal teams to solve legal issues during negotiations.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- A J.D. degree and at least 5 years of experience.
- A background in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, and are comfortable interacting with sophisticated institutional clients and counterparties.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with the business and other cross functional teams to build new products, solve complex issues, and strategize growth.
- Enthusiasm for crypto and a foundational understanding of the crypto industry and applicable laws/regulations both in the U.S. and internationally.
- Demonstrated close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- The ability to execute with minimal supervision and balance commercial and legal realities.
