ABOUT THE ROLE

As the DeFi Ecosystem Lead, you will report directly to the Head of DeFi and play a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening Algorand’s DeFi ecosystem. You will empower existing DeFi projects to thrive, identify strategic opportunities to enhance the ecosystem, and attract innovative teams to build on Algorand, driving adoption and growth.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support DeFi Projects: Partner closely with DeFi projects on Algorand to understand their strategies, identify growth opportunities, and facilitate high-impact initiatives to accelerate their success.

• Grow DeFi Ecosystem: Build a deep understanding of Algorand (and other) DeFi ecosystem ecosystems, and actively attract new and innovative solutions to Algorand.

• Partner closely with BD team, especially the tokenization lead, to bring composable RWA assets into DeFi

• Drive Data-Driven Insights: Perform rigorous, data-driven analysis of existing Algorand DeFi projects, benchmarking their performance against competitors to inform strategic recommendations and optimize ecosystem growth.

• Lead Ecosystem-Wide Initiatives: Design and implement scalable initiatives to support DeFi projects, fostering collaboration and driving adoption across the Algorand ecosystem.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with internal stakeholders - Marketing, Developer Relations, Ventures, to support needs of DeFi projects.

WHO YOU ARE / KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 3+ years in DeFi, blockchain, or fintech, with a strong understanding of DeFi protocols, tokenomics, and ecosystem dynamics. Experience in ecosystem development, partnerships, or business development is a plus.
• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to conduct data-driven analysis, benchmark performance, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Collaborative Spirit: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally to align stakeholders and deliver results.
• Entrepreneurial Drive: Passion for identifying and seizing opportunities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ecosystem building.
• Knowledge of Algorand: Familiarity with Algorand’s technology and ecosystem is preferred but not required; a willingness to dive deep into layer-1 protocols is essential.
• Network: Established connections within the DeFi or blockchain community, with a track record of fostering partnerships or attracting projects to a platform.
